Providing warmth and love to children in need through blankets since 1999, as part of Project Linus.
Project Linus is a national organization that began in December 1995, dedicated to providing comfort through handmade blankets. This 501(c)3 non-profit boasts over 350 chapters across the country, including the Tucson Chapter, which was established in the spring of 1999 and serves Tucson and the surrounding areas of Southern Arizona.
To date, Project Linus has provided over 10 million blankets for kids across the nation. The Tucson chapter alone has supplied over 125,000 blankets to approximately 50 facilities.
Project Linus has two important goals: First, to provide love, a sense of security, and comfort to children who are seriously ill, traumatized, or otherwise in need through the gifts of new handmade blankets and afghans that are lovingly created by volunteers. Second, to offer a rewarding and fun service opportunity for interested individuals and groups in local communities, all for the benefit of children who receive these cherished blankets.
